Leadership Transition at IGI: Tehmasp Printer to become CEO as Roland Lorie Passes the Baton

This transition is a result of the recent acquisition of the International Gemological Institute by private equity firm Blackstone in May, marking a significant change from the organization's original founders, the Lorie family, who established it in 1975.

Printer boasts an extensive 24-year tenure with IGI, culminating in his recent role as the Managing Director of IGI India. Notably, his instrumental contribution was the introduction of IGI's grading and certification methodologies to India's gemstone and jewellery sectors, a significant stride for the organization.

According to the institute, the decision to appoint Tehmasp as the new leader was seamless, given his profound familiarity with IGI's operations and the industry. This step aligns with the company's commitment to excellence and innovation, crucial for steering the organization into its new phase.
